American bakeries range from wholesale operations that supply restaurants to neighborhood shops that sell bread, pastries, cookies and cakes over the counter, and many of them also pour coffee. Bagel shops boil and bake on site and sell out of favorite flavors by late morning; donut shops open before dawn and are often family-run; patisseries and cake studios take custom orders for weddings and birthdays and usually need one to two weeks' notice. Ice cream parlors, gelato shops and frozen yogurt bars are seasonal in the northern states and year-round in the South and on the West Coast. Prices are posted per item, by the dozen or by the pound, and most shops now take cards and mobile payment.

Philadelphia is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Traffic in Philadelphia peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. Addresses read from the street number up to the city, state abbreviation and five-digit ZIP code; the map link on this page shows the exact spot.

We found a TON of hair in our bagels. It was like someone shaved their beard into the bagel. We thought it was just the salt and pepper bagels, so we threw those 2 out. My boyfriend toasted the zaatar bagel, took a bite, and we pulled a huge hair out of his mouth. (We threw everything out after that) I honestly would have preferred to call the place and let them know because finding that much hair in something feels more like an employee was pissed off, but I couldn’t find a phone number.

If you know what a good bagel tastes like and you’re looking for that, don’t go here. The bagels are very small, doughy and chewy to the point where you wonder if it’s undercooked. For the price it’s totally NOT worth it. Honestly, IGA on aramingo has better bagels and they’re like 80 cents a piece. Every time I go here I’m disappointed. I was waiting for better bagel options tip open in the neighborhood, but Bagel & Co. isn’t much better. Kismet is also very expensive for what you get, but I would go there over the other options in fishtown. They have very good coffee. Their coffee and hash browns are good, and their sandwiches are good aside from the bagels on them and price. Please don’t be fooled by the good reviews. Those people do not know good bagels.

I heard this was rated as one of the best sandwiches in the states. I feel like that's a really big stretch. It's good but not close to my top sandwiches. We got one they recommended that had hash, cream cheese and lettuce. The ingredients were pretty good and went together well. Like most bagel sandwhiches, some insides get pushed out the back after the first few bites. The bagel is a little lighter than the ones you will get in new York and a little less chewey I think I prefer the latter. That all being said, it's still pretty good and the staff is friendly and quick. The atmosphere is nice but not super big so most the seats were taken when we were there. Overall a good place.

I personally think these are really yummy bagels. Quite chewy, on the denser side. However I do feel these are probably the smallest bagels I have ever seen. Notable enough that it prevents me from giving 5 stars. The space is not particularly inviting, but that’s ok since it’s more of a order and take out kind of space. Coffee is good, service friendly.

Had a wonderful experience having PSB cater our post-wedding brunch. The bagels were delicious, and the overall presentation and taste of the accompanying spread was perfect. All of our guests loved it! Coordinating / ordering was also great along with the pick up and invoicing part of the process. Highly recommend working with this team for catering (and also just getting a bagel sandwich on a regular day). Thank you!
